Victor Lindelof is pleased to see Harry Maguire and Donny van de Beek returning to full fitness for Manchester United..
United won comfortably 3 – 0 versus FC Sheriff in the Europa League on Wednesday evening, as well as Van and Maguire de Beek made their returns from a back problem and a muscle injury in the 2nd half.
Maguire played for United last September against Sheriff, while Van de Beek’s newest appearance was in August against Liverpool, though the pair have now conquered their injury problems which allowed their return against FC Sheriff..
United manager Erik ten Hag emphasized that United is going to need a full squad this season and insisted both players would have roles to play.
Lindelof began at centre back for Sheriff on Wednesday and reflected on his dominant performance prior to the match before being asked about his response to the return of Van and Maguire de Beek, who played for the very first time in weeks.
“we controlled the game really well,” Lindelof told MUTV. “They defended with everybody behind the ball, therefore in matches like this it is crucial to try and always keep a high pace with the ball, to move quickly,” he said.
We won three goals and maintained a clean sheet, so well done to us. I believe one of the most crucial things is maintaining the concentration level up as we’d plenty of the ball but perhaps we are able to lose it and they could counter attack..
For us to stay focused at the back, it’s very important. I believe he [Dalot] has performed superbly this season, so I’m really happy for him to score. It really is great to have him [Maguire] back, and Donny [Van de Beek] also, his very first game back in a quite a while.
“We’re really happy to have them back, it is always crucial that you have a full squad,” he said.
