That run resulted in Chris Maxwell being dropped from the starting lineup for Saturday’s must-win game.
“It was just a different situation,” Dobbie explained.
“I spoke with Maxi on Friday, and he was fantastic. It was a simple one because the numbers were three, three, three, and four.
We tried to rotate the defenders during those games, so we figured a change in goal would be beneficial..
“But listen, Maxwell is a very good goalie who is still an important member of the team.” He’s in the locker room congratulating Grimmy and everyone else; that’s the kind of guy he is.”
Only QPR have conceded 67 goals in the Championship this season, so Saturday’s shutout came at an opportune time.
