Manchester United Have Dropped Their Interest In Joao Felix And Are Preparing A €60 Million Bid For France's World Cup Star

According to reports, Manchester United have withdrawn from a potential loan deal for Joao Felix and are now considering a big-money move for France striker Randal Kolo Muani..

Following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure, Erik ten Hag is severely lacking in attacking options, with Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford the only senior, established options capable of leading the line and playing through the middle.

After falling out of favor with Diego Simeone, Felix emerged as a potential short-term solution, with Atletico Madrid willing to sanction a loan deal.

The Portugal international was offered to United, Chelsea, and Arsenal by his agent, Jorge Mendes, but according to The Telegraph, the Red Devils have dropped their interest and are looking for other options.

Atletico were seeking a €15 million (£13.3 million) loan fee, while Felix’s wages until the end of the season would cost an additional €6 million (£5.3 million), plus Mendes would be paid.

That is too high a price to pay for United, who have balked at the demands and backed away from a deal, and it would take a dramatic shift in Felix, Atletico, and Mendes’ positions for United to return to the negotiating table.

However, Ten Hag is still desperate for a new forward and has made his case to United’s board, who are now considering a move for Frankfurt forward Kolo Muani, according to French newspaper L’Equipe..

There had been speculation that United would only sign players on loan, with the Glazers unwilling to sanction any deals while they looked to sell the club, but that could change if the right player comes along.

Kolo Muani had an excellent debut season for Frankfurt and earned a spot in Didier Deschamps’ France squad for the World Cup, where he performed admirably in Qatar.

According to L’Equipe, United are preparing a €60 million (£53 million) bid for the Frenchman, who joined Frankfurt from Nantes on a free transfer in the summer.
