The Football Association (FA) has suspended Jurgen Klopp for one game, effective immediately, meaning he will not be on the bench for Liverpool’s home match against Southampton..

On October 16, Klopp was shown a red card for furiously charging at assistant referee Gary Beswick and berating the official late in Liverpool’s 1-0 Premier League win over Manchester City at Anfield.

The FA, however, has successfully appealed that decision, and Liverpool’s manager will have to watch the game from the stands at Anfield on Saturday, the Reds’ final game before the World Cup break.

“An independent Appeal Board has allowed The FA’s appeal against an Independent Regulatory Commission’s sanction in relation to the recent case involving Jurgen Klopp,” the FA said in a statement.

“As a result, the Liverpool FC manager has been suspended from the sidelines for one match, fined £30,000, and warned about his future behavior.”
