On Wednesday, a cat was disturbingly manhandled by a Brazilian official, interrupting Vinicius Jr’s Brazil press conference at the World Cup..
Vinicius Jr burst out laughing while answering a journalist’s question ahead of Brazil’s quarter-final match against Croatia on Friday.
The cat then approached an unnamed official, who was sitting next to the Real Madrid winger and was wearing a Brazil polo shirt.
The official appeared to scratch the cat’s head before standing up and grabbing it – and then throwing the animal off the table – with the press conference gasping in unison..
However, the cat appeared to be unharmed as the Brazil official sat back down and said, ‘You’re welcome,’ before shrugging.
Vinicius Jr laughed it off as reporters talked amongst themselves before his press conference resumed..
Since joining Real Madrid in 2018, the 22-year-old has been a standout performer, helping the club win two La Liga titles, the Champions League, the Super Cup, and the Club World Cup.
Vinicius Jr was questioned about his club manager Carlo Ancelotti and the impact he has had on his career following the cat incident..

‘I spoke with Ancelotti, and he gave me a lot of advice on how to become a starter for Brazil,’ he said..
He instilled a lot of faith in me. He was always firm with me when necessary. He is like a father figure to me.
He is skilled not only in the technical aspects of the game, but also in how he interacts with his teammates.
‘I’ve been getting better, and Ancelotti has been a big help.’ He and (Brazil coach) Tite are very similar, and they communicate frequently.’
