According to Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing, Tottenham are making Sporting Lisbon full-back Pedro Porro their top transfer target, but there is no update on Leandro Trossard..
The reporter has provided an update on potential ins and outs at Tottenham this January, with talks ongoing to sign Porro to strengthen in the right-back position, which he believes could also mean Emerson Royal departs before the end of the month.
Romano also addressed recent transfer rumors linking Brighton’s Trossard to Tottenham, stating that nothing concrete is currently happening with the Belgian international.
“Tottenham have made an opening bid for Pedro Porro including one player plus guaranteed money.
This formula has been rejected by sports. Negotiations will continue as Sporting maintains their €45 million clause, but Spurs are adamant, and the player is eager to move,” Romano said.
Porro is Tottenham’s top priority, and his arrival implies that Emerson Royal may leave, but no bids have been submitted. It could be one to keep an eye on in the final days.
“I know fans are keen for updates on Leandro Trossard and Spurs, but at the moment there isn’t one – Brighton have not received any fresh bid from Tottenham as of now..
Tottenham lost to rivals Arsenal over the weekend and do not currently appear to be guaranteed a place in the top four, so Antonio Conte would be wise to make some changes to his squad..
Spurs fans will undoubtedly believe that Porro would be a significant upgrade over the unconvincing Emerson Royal, but there is also room for improvement in the attack, with Trossard potentially an upgrade over the out-of-form Son Heung-min.
