The 24-year-old was released on Monday after his heart stopped during an NFL game between the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals and he had to be resuscitated on the field.

Mr Hamlin posted an image from his hospital bed on social media on Sunday, six days after the incident. He was sitting up in bed, making a heart sign with his hands to express his gratitude for the outpouring of support in the aftermath of his collapse.
