Chelsea Supporters’ Trust has written a strong open letter to Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly in response to proposed new season ticket prices..
An adult season ticket at Stamford Bridge currently costs between £750 and £1,500, depending on location, according to the Evening Standard.
However, far bigger prices have been proposed following improvements to Stamford Bridge, namely the West Stand Upper now named ‘Westview’..
Given the current cost of living crisis in the UK, the potential price increase has sparked outrage among Chelsea fans, who have written a letter to Todd Boehly to express their concerns.
There was also fan backlash last summer when Chelsea reversed a number of price increases, but the club is expected to push for additional increases ahead of the 2023-24 season.
Chelsea fans write a vehement open letter to co-owner Todd Boehly.
“The Trust believes that, beginning in April, our members and all Chelsea supporters will be forced to make significant sacrifices simply to afford current ticket prices,” the letter states, according to the Evening Standard..
“On this critical issue, it is our duty to protect the interests of our members and all Chelsea supporters.” In light of this, we believe that any increases in ticket prices are unconscionable and contradict CFC’s efforts to strengthen community ties and supporter relations.
The Trust will not accept such increases and requests further dialogue with the club on the pricing issue in order to provide sustainable and practical solutions in the future.”
