Unai Emery is looking to make his mark on the Villa squad after just a few months in charge. Left-back Alex Moreno became Emery’s first signing, making his debut against Leeds United on Friday, and is set to be quickly joined by a second new signing.
Villa announced in a club statement on Monday that the club had reached an agreement to sign Chicago Fire forward Jhon Duran. The 19-year-old Colombian center-forward has already earned three caps for his country.
Villa explained that the move is contingent on Duran passing a medical exam, obtaining a work permit, and agreeing to personal terms..
After joining from Colombian side Envigado, the teenager impressed in his first season in MLS, scoring eight goals and providing five assists in 27 appearances.
